Exeter, NH - The Boston Junior Whalers headed north of the Massachusetts border yet again this past weekend, and when the dust cleared, the 2009 Elites were crowned as Blue Line Elite K-Cup Champions. This was the team's second win in as many weeks, having previously captured the CCM Boston Elite Invite.
The team kicked off the weekend with a pair of Friday wins. After a 5-1 routing of the New Hampshire Knights, the team held on to edge out a strong Junior Bruins team by a score of 4-2. On Saturday, the team wrapped up the Round Robin with the #1 Seed after a pair of wings, 6-3 over the Boston Jr Blues and 2-0 over Northstar Elite.
On Playoff Sunday, the boys drew a familiar opponent, squaring off with the Boston Junior Whalers '09 Black Team, and skating past them to earn a second matchup with the Boston Jr Blues. This contest proved to be much tighter, and needed a shootout to decide the outcome, but our '09 Elites broke away as champions!
Thank you to all of our players and their families, and congratulations to everyone!
